Gender equality index
What is this index ?
In accordance with decree no. 2019-15 of 8 January 2019, the index must be calculated on the basis of 4 to 5 indicators (depending on the size of the company). It gives a score out of 100 points. Each company must logically reach, as a minimum, 75/100. If a company does not exceed this threshold, it has three years to comply, failing which it may be sanctioned up to 1% of its payroll. The aim of the measure is to eradicate inequalities in the world of work between men and women.
In order to establish their score, large companies had to comply with five major criteria set in advance by the government :
- The gender pay gap (scored out of 40 points).
- The gap in annual salary increases (20 points).
- Gap in promotions (15 points).
- Increases on return from maternity leave (15 points).
- The presence of women among the company's top earners (10 points).
